And have eternal life.
What is the opposite of unbelief? Disobedience. What is the result of unbelief or disobedience? The wrath of God is already upon you.
The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” We face the same reality today.
When we teach obedience to our children, it is threefold. All the way, right away, and with a happy heart. This eliminates the legalisic and the licentious. This is about conviction, even when its inconvenient, for the correct reasons. Conversely, its about knowing what your forgiveness costs because then you will obey out of love (Luke 7:47) as Jesus said Himself, “Those who love me will keep my commandments” (John 14:15).
