Entrusting Ourselves to Men: John 2:24-25

If Jesus did not entrust Himself to men, how can we entrust ourselves to men, heroes, or even ourselves?

That is why God designed us for discipleship (Matthew 28:18-20), accountability (James 4:15), fellowship (Hebrews 10:25-25), evangelism (Luke 10:1), and relationship (1 Corinthians 12:18). All within the context of a local body of believers where we can break bread (Acts 2:42), sharpen (Proverbs 27:10,17), encourage (Galatians 6:1-3), confess, pray (Matthew 18:19), worship (Col 3:16), and build up one another in love (Ephesians 4:16).

Our service and sacrifice is the acceptable form of worship (Romans 12:1-2). Let us put no confidence in the flesh but respond to what we know we’ve been called – continual prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17), daily renewing of the mind in the Word (Matthew 13:23), fellowship (Hebrews 3:13), and evangelism (Acts 1:8), centered on Christ (Galatians 2:20) and evidenced by obedience (John 14:15).
